I spiced up this bright dress today with a patterned top, textured tights, and a pop of purple patent. The final result seems perfect to brighten up any winters day.

Another beautiful sunny day to start off the week - couldn't ask for anything more. 

I'm mixing patterns today. My dress has a mini houndstooth print, while my tights have a fair isle pattern on them, both can be busy prints, but I thought they really complemented each other. 

The dress ties around the waist, but instead I chose to do a bow around my neck for a little extra charm.

I've been enjoying this Rachel Roy vest a lot lately! (Also very handy that it can be transformed into a jacket - just zip the sleeves back on). I'm finding it to be the perfect piece that adds a final viola to my look, especially when outerwear can feel like you are wearing the same thing day after day. 

The jacket is old, but I didn't wear it much when first I got it. I couldn't resist the color, so I thought I'd give it a spin this weekend.

Trying to stay toasty with these fluctuating temperatures is not as fun as it sounds. 

It's January, and we're in New England, so I feel like I need to be wearing my puffer, but the temperatures are telling me otherwise.

Lately, I've brought out my leathers from storage, and have been layering them under some of my oversized jackets and cape. It's a nice change from a blazer or cardigan sweater. I took a chance with the cowboy boots and loved how they completed the look - gave it an effortless feel. 

Happy Friday. I'm so excited the weekend is here.

I wanted to make sure I stayed warm today, so I layered my super soft grey turtleneck under this black dress. Of course I wanted to add some color so I chose tights in a rich purple - I also really like the design down the side of them. I bedazzled my wrists with some of my favorite bracelets for a little more glam. ;)

I love this dress, and not because it's black. :) It's covered in this amazing bark print which adds great texture to it. This particular dress is no longer available, but I also love this similar one in a velvet dot print. 

The tights are new, they have a nice black/bronze tone to them (when you look closer it's a fine polka dot print). I wanted to jazz up the dress a bit more, so I added two thin belts in a brown and purple patent. 

I'm getting so much use out of my new heels. I could wear them everyday! And surprisingly they are comfortable. yay.
