We took these photos over the weekend at this tiny little park I recently discovered. It's one of those hidden gems tucked away between two townhouses on a quaint tree-lined street. I absolutely adore the vine covered pillars, they make the mini garden feel so special and inviting. I'll definitely be using this location again for more shoots - I can't wait until everything starts to bloom! 

I was wearing pops of peony - a little lilac pink, exotic fuchsia - pulled together with this silky soft rose blouse.

A pale color palette today so I threw on my vintage cowboy boots to roughen up the soft combo. I added this metallic knot belt to define my waistline, making the silhouette much more flattering.  The weather is perfect so I'm off to enjoy the day!

Mulberry a/w '12

You've probably noticed throughout my blog that I have a certain soft spot for UK brand Mulberry and so I just had to share these highlights from their luxurious A/W '12 Collection.

The theme of the show and inspiration behind the A/W '12 collection came from the book Where The Wild Things Are - they had their very own giant Mulberry monster popping up in all sorts of places during London's Fashion Week.

On the runway, we saw luxurious textures and patterns layered and styled at their finest.  Fur was everywhere - from the trim on hooded coats, to full coats, vests, skirts and even a fur dress. Fun new prints including tie dye, tiger and aztec-inspired zig zags, were all captured in an autumnal color palette with pops of Flame - a new color for the season.

Biggest news of all,  Mulberry announced the addition of a new bag - the Del Rey - inspired by singer and songwriter Lana Del Rey. The bag, which will be available starting in May, has a classic yet vintage design, staying true to the brand's English heritage. Adorned with a traditional postman's lock and two structured twin handles, the simple silhouette makes for the perfect pared-down minimalist look. 

I can't wait to see it in person!

silk pants

I busted out the silk pants today. They are so comfy that I feel like I'm running around in sweats, but the 5 inch heels bring me right back to reality. :)

I kept everything else simple as I wanted the pants to be the statement of the outfit. I couldn't resist adding the tie for a little menswear fix - which I've been seriously embracing lately. 

I'd love to find a pair with a fun print or color for the summer, like these Vera Moda ones or these leaf print by DVF. Another option is to go wide leg. I love love love the stained glass print on the Robert Rodriguez wide leg trousers.

i'm convinced... spring has arrived

Enjoying the remainder of this absolutely gorgeous (feels like it's May) long weekend. The sun has been beaming the last few days and it's finally starting to get dark at a more reasonable hour. I took a risk today and decided to brave my denim jacket. I made sure to bring along my oversized blanket-like scarf, just in case. I figure as long as I'm back indoors when the sun sets, I'll be fine. :)

weekend relaxing

The weekend is finally here, and it's extra long! I've got a pile of magazines up to my knees that I need to catch up on - March issues have started hitting stands and I am so behind on all the rest. The next two days will consist of  reading, lounging, and warm blankies, accompanied by lots of green/passion tea and a butter cookie or two. ;)
