mini hearts + tiered pleats

I've been on a high-waisted kick lately. Anything and everything that sits just above the waist I'm drawn to. It really is the perfect solution for us ladies with a long torso and short legs - nothing a little camouflaging can't fix!
I paired the skirt with this sheer mini heart print blouse. I love the simple details of the blouse and adore the peter pan collar. I think a vintage inspired detachable collar would also look adorable and would add a little punch to the blouse. Now to find the perfect one.

Happy Thursday everyone.
Thank you for coming by and for all your sweet comments.
They make my day!

in full bloom

I have to say, the peplum is one of my favored trends that has emerged in the past few years. It's continuing through Fall 2012 and I hope it will carry on for a couple more seasons. We'll see very soon once Fashion Week begins - in just a couple more weeks!

I paired my floral peplum top with this color block hemline skirt. The skirt fits just above the waist and has a flared silhouette. It was practically begging to be styled with this top.

Happy Tuesday everyone.
Thank you for visiting.

back

I'm back from a mini hiatus! I spent the two weeks at the London Image Institute learning from some of the most knowledgable and successful women and men in the industry. This experience was more valuable than I could have ever imagined and it will hold a special place in my heart for a very long time. Already missing the incredible people I met, but I know I have made lifelong friendships and met individuals who will inspire me for many years to come.

Today, I'm wearing something new. I was instantly attracted to this dress because of the stripes. When I took a closer look at the details, I knew it was perfect for my body shape. The A-line silhouette is ideal for us ladies who have small hips and wider shoulders. Plus, the added pleats at the waistline help in achieving the perfect hourglass shape.

Happy Monday everyone!
Excited to be back with all of you.

colors

I wanted to pair this skirt with something other than a solid top.
I think this tee-like shirt was a good choice because it’s got a clean silhouette and it’s not too colorful so it doesn’t compete with the skirt. Raspberry clutch and shoes - I never go matchy matchy but I like this result.

it's a berry kind of day

I've been really into pairing colorful looks with black accessories lately. I really like the contrast of a cheerful bright combo with bold accents of black.

Today, I was inspired by my breakfast - a berry parfait. Pink jeans with a deep lavender blouse. The purse was an obvious choice for the outfit.

Happy Monday and thank you for visiting.

mini roadie

We took a little mini road trip up north to Manchester last weekend. I haven't had a chance to share the photos yet, so here are a few from our adventure.  I wore my Olympic pride tee with simple crochet shorts.
The small coastal town has all the elements for a day away from the big city: beach, lobster shack, and a picture perfect estate community where we strolled for hours.

Happy Saturday! Another beautiful weekend ahead.

bricks in the wall

I'm totally obsessed with this vintage print that All Saints creates. The background resembles a serene watercolor painting covered with images of hummingbirds and flowers in soft hues.  Here, I'm wearing the dress as a top, belted and flouncy, paired with shorts. I accessorized with black - shoes, belt, shades - for an extra bold pop.

thanks for coming by today.
