sweater dress

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I spent the holiday with my husband's family here in Boston. As always, it was filled with amazing food, great stories and lots of laughs. I always miss my parents during this time, but I know the Christmas Holidays are just around the corner and we'll be heading up north (to Canada) very soon!

The sweater/knit dress is a staple in my closet during the winter months. It's a basic essential for colder temperatures and a versatile piece that can be worn in many different ways.
I'm wearing mine with a wide belt, which helps accentuate my waist, tights and a pair of knee boots (also a staple of mine this season). I added my faux fur vest for additional spice, plus the extra warmth sure doesn't hurt.

Style Tip

When wearing a sweater dress with a belt, be sure that the sweater is not too short and covers your behind, especially if you are wearing tights or leggings. If you are unsure and feeling uncomfortable with the length once it's belted, you can combine your sweater dress with a pair of skinny jeans, or other slim pants, as another option.

You can take the look up a notch by adding a blazer and quickly transforming a comfy weekend look to a more polished and elegant work outfit.
